Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) will endeavour to record another back-to-back wins in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) when they travel to the adopted ground of the host, Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as they take on Niger Tornadoes on Saturday afternoon.
The matchday 18 between both sides was earlier scheduled to take place on Sunday 13th of March 2022 but moved backwards to Saturday, 12th of March 2022.
Gbenga Ogunbote’s men triumphed over Sunshine Stars FC last weekend at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, while the Ikon Allah Boys suffered a 1-0 loss to Heartland FC.
The Sky Blue Stars are currently third in the table, nine points behind leaders Rivers United, while the Ikon Allah Boys occupy 18th, two points above MFM FC who are 20th on the log.
Niger Tornadoes FC and Remo Stars FC will be meeting for the fifth time in the NPFL after the previous four meetings have seen the Ikon Allah Boys win two games and drawn their last two matches with the Sky Blue Stars.
In 2017, Niger Tornadoes defeated the Sky Blue Stars both home and away. Ebenezer Odeyemi scored for the Ikon Allah Boys in the 21st minute to give them the maximum three points at the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu.
The reverse fixture saw Peter Momoh put Nigeria Tornadoes in front in the 59th minute, and they went on to pick the maximum points against the Sky Blue Stars.
In 2019, both sides met and picked a point each both at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja and Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State.
Enyimba have garnered four points in their last five games and didn’t win their last game at their former home, Abuja against MFM FC as they managed to pick a point against the Olukoya Boys, the Sky Blue Stars on the other hand have managed six points from their last five games, they have lost their last two away games by a slim margin.
The host will try to return to winning ways after they have lost three and drawn one in their last four games while the Sky Blue Stars will hope to pick at least a point in Kaduna.
The Ikon Allah Boys are hopeful of getting a win in their new home ground following their wins in their previous two home grounds in Ilorin against Plateau United and in Abuja against Shooting Stars Sports Club.
The Sky Blue Stars should be battle-ready to face the likes of Usule Martins, Peter Monoh, Kabir Adeniji, Destiny Ashadi and Adamu Yahaya amongst host of others.
Remo Stars have a handful of players to pick from as all players aside from Samuel Anakwe who currently is suffering from a groin injury.
A win for Remo Stars will further boost the confidence of players keeping tabs on Rivers United and Plateau United who are currently on top of the league table, a draw will be a fair result while a win for Niger Tornadoes will be their best result in the last four games played.
