A merciless Remo Stars Football Club tore Shooting Stars Sports Club asunder at the Remo Stars Stadium as they ran out comfortably with a 3-0 win over Gbenga Ogunbote’s deplorable troops in Wednesday’s Nigeria Premier Football League Southwest Derby.
Sikiru Alimi customarily found the back of the net twice while Ahmed Akinyele first rubbed salt into the Oluyole Warriors’ open wounds, as the hosts’ continued their unbeaten record against the southwestern teams.
It was a cagey start for both sides as they looked careful not to concede in the early minutes, it took only 20 minutes for the Sky Blue Stars to find themselves in front from Sodiq Ismail’s corner and Ahmed Akinyele converted to give Remo Stars the lead.

Shooting Stars crowd did their best to put Sikiru Alimi off but coolly sent Darlington Ovunda the wrong way to give Remo Stars the lead in the 40th minute.
The visitors continued to strive hard to reduce the deficit in the 55th minute of the game but Kayode Bankole was everly present to deny the Oluyole Warriors even as he faced his former side once again.
Another passing sequence around Shooting Stars final third in the 63rd minute ended with Sikiru Alimi getting his brace, Sodiq Ismail turned the provider once again to see Remo Stars score their third from a yard out.
The Sky Blue Stars are now prepared to continue their winning streak this weekend as Bendel Insurance hosts Remo Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Edo State.
